Happy New Year! I hope that you are having some good times with family and friends. This year, we had a very white Christmas and also some freezing rain which resulted in lots of beautiful, sparkly, fragile trees and then power outages and a big mess. There are still some areas without power and our neighbourhood is littered with fallen branches and broken trees. Our power was out for only a short while but we were always listening to the cracking and creaking hoping that our giant Black Walnut would hold it all together with the extra weight on it. We are feeling very grateful that we had the Walnut pruned in the Spring!
